Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about converting bank statement PDFs with StatementIQ.
Trust & Security
Is my bank statement data safe or stored anywhere?
Yes, your data is completely safe. All files are processed immediately in volatile memory. Converted Excel or CSV output files are stored securely and automatically deleted permanently after 24 hours. Your uploaded source PDF statements are processed instantly and deleted within 2 hours. We do not store any extracted transaction data permanently.
Do you sell or share my financial data?
Absolutely not. We do not monetize or share your personal financial details with any third parties. Ynotfinance's only revenue source is our paid pricing plans. Your statements are used strictly for performing the file conversion requested.
Is StatementIQ legal and compliant for handling bank data in India?
Yes. StatementIQ complies with strict information security standards and GDPR guidelines. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not connect to your bank accounts directly or store bank login credentials—you simply upload your downloaded statements yourself, ensuring you maintain total control over your files.
What encryption standards do you use?
We encrypt all files in transit using secure HTTPS/TLS protocols and at rest using industry-standard AES-256 encryption, ensuring enterprise-grade protection for all sensitive financial information.
Can I trust this tool with sensitive account numbers and transactions?
StatementIQ operates on a zero-trust architecture. You do not need to link your bank account or provide bank passwords. You can even try the tool completely anonymously without creating an account. Furthermore, we automatically scrub account numbers and sensitive personal identifiers from our internal conversion logs.
Accuracy & Reliability
Does it work correctly with Indian bank statements (SBI, HDFC, ICICI, etc.)?
Yes. Unlike generic converters optimized only for US/UK layouts, StatementIQ has custom models specifically trained on 100+ Indian banks (including SBI, HDFC, ICICI, Axis, Kotak, PNB, Canara Bank, and cooperative/regional banks) to accurately capture UPI, NEFT, IMPS, and ATM transaction narratives.
What happens if a statement doesn't parse correctly—do I lose my credit?
No. We have a built-in automated refund policy. If a PDF fails to parse or encounters layout mismatches, the deducted credit is instantly returned to your balance. You can also contact support to request a manual layout adaptation if you use a rare bank format.
Does StatementIQ handle scanned or image-based PDFs, or only digital PDFs?
StatementIQ handles both digital (searchable) bank statements and scanned/image-based PDFs. We use advanced Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to convert scanned pages into clean spreadsheet rows with high precision.
Can it handle multi-page or large statements (50+ pages) without errors?
Yes. Our Pro and Firm plans support statements up to 100 pages per credit. With our 'No Page Count Panic' feature, we process long multi-page statements seamlessly and deduct credits proportionally, ensuring your batch conversions never get blocked mid-file.
Does it correctly separate transactions (UPI, NEFT, IMPS, Cash) into distinct columns?
No, it does not create individual columns for each transaction type. Instead, it places the transaction details and references (like UPI IDs or check numbers) cleanly in the Description/Particulars column, while accurately splitting the amounts into distinct Debit (Withdrawals) and Credit (Deposits) columns. For Tally exports, it also automatically assigns the correct Tally Voucher Type (e.g., Receipt, Payment, Contra) in its own column.
Password-Protected Statements
Can I upload password-protected bank statement PDFs?
Yes. StatementIQ supports password-protected PDFs. When you upload a protected statement, you will be prompted to enter the password in the browser to unlock it.
Is entering my PDF password during upload safe?
Yes. Your password is processed strictly in local browser volatile memory to decrypt the file stream on the server. The password is never logged, saved in any database, or written to disk.
Pricing & Credits
What is the actual cost per statement or page?
Our Starter plan is a one-time purchase of ₹1,499 ($19) for 50 lifetime credits (averaging ₹30 per statement). Pro plan is ₹2,499 ($29) for 200 monthly credits. Firm plan is ₹6,499 ($79) for 500 monthly credits. Standard pricing averages less than ₹12 per statement on higher tiers.
Do credits expire?
Credits purchased under our Starter Pack (one-time purchase) never expire and carry over indefinitely. Monthly plan credits (Pro & Firm) reset at the end of each billing cycle.
What plan do I need as a solo CA vs. an accounting firm?
Solo CAs typically choose the Pro Plan (200 monthly credits, supports QuickBooks/Xero/Tally formats, and batch uploads of up to 20 files). Accounting Firms choose the Firm Plan (500 monthly credits, priority processing, Tally XML vouchers, and batch uploads of up to 50 files). For one-off personal returns, the Starter Pack is ideal.
Is there a free trial or free limit before I pay?
Yes. You can convert up to 2 files completely anonymously without creating an account. If you sign up for a free Hobby account, you get 5 free credits (resets every 30 days).
What happens if I run out of credits mid-month?
You can upgrade your plan or purchase custom prepaid credits packages directly from your dashboard anytime to resume processing statement files.
Export & Integrations
Can I export directly to Tally, QuickBooks, or Xero?
Yes. Pro and Firm plan users can download files in pre-aligned formats matching QuickBooks Online, Xero CSV schemas, and Tally-ready XML vouchers, allowing you to import your transactions into your accounting ledger immediately without reformatting.
Does it give clean columns (date, narration, debit, credit, balance)?
Yes. The output matches standard bookkeeper requirements, giving you cleanly separated columns for Date, Description, Debit, Credit, and Running Balance with unified formatting.
Can I batch-upload multiple clients' statements at once?
Yes. Pro plan allows uploading up to 20 files at once, and Firm plan allows uploading up to 50 files at once. The AI processes them concurrently, letting you convert a whole folder of client statements in seconds.
Comparison & Alternatives
How is StatementIQ different from bankstatementconverter.com or free online tools?
Unlike generic free converters, StatementIQ is built for serious accounting compliance: Tally XML Voucher Export support (which competitors lack); high-grade privacy protection (automatic file deletion in 2h/24h, whereas free tools often sell data); and built-in mathematical starting-to-ending balance checks to guarantee mathematical correctness.
